The Libertines began their European tour in over a decade last night (September 23rd) with a gig at the Store Vega venue in Copenhagen.

Despite Carl Barat and Pete Doherty loudly declaring their intentions to finally follow-up their last, 2004 studio album, there was no sign of any new material at the gig, just the winning greatest hits set which has formed the bedrock of not only their summer comeback shows, but the 2010 reunion as well.

The band now move on to London for three nights at the Alexandra Palace with Peace in support, and then return to mainland Europe for more concerts at the Zenith venue in Paris on September 30th, the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on October 2nd, Brussels’ FN Club (3rd), Columbiahalle in Berlin (4th) and finally Dusseldorf’s Mitsubishi Electric Halle on the 5th.
