The Nik Colk Void, of Factory Floor, directed video for The Charlatans‘ new single ‘Talking In Tones‘ has been premiered and can be seen in full on Live4ever at this link.

Actor Nico Mirallegro takes up the role as the young Tim Burgess in the promo for the single which is to be released as a 7″ on September 29th. A one-off gig at the Garage in London then follows on October 20th as will, at some point, the band’s as-yet-untitled twelfth studio album.

That album will be their first since the untimely death of drummer Jon Brookes. Brookes was first taken ill during a 2010 Charlatans gig in Philadelphia. He was subsequently treated for a brain tumour but felt well enough to briefly rejoin the band on stage a month or so later. However, the recovery was tragically short and he passed away at the age of 44 in August 2013.

“Jon was adamant that there was going to be another Charlatans record, and you have to put that into your own thoughts,” keyboardist Tony Rogers has said.
