Kasabian‘s chief songwriter Serge Pizzorno is already looking ahead to a ‘heavy’ and ‘bombastic’ new album from the band after the release of ‘48:13‘ in June.

At the band’s iTunes Festival gig in London on September 5th, they performed their debut album in full almost exactly ten years on from its original release. And while they spent that show reminiscing about the past, it was all about the future when Pizzorno spoke to NME afterwards.

“I’m always thinking about the next record,” he said. “As soon as a week’s passed after finishing one record, I’m on to the next. I’ve no idea whatsoever what it’s going to be like yet – this is the best bit ‘cos it could go anywhere. But it’ll definitely be heavy. It’ll definitely be bombastic. That’s what’s going on in my head right now.”

’48:13’ launched Kasabian into their Glastonbury headline spot a few weeks later, and also sparked a homecoming concert at Leicester’s Victoria Park. They’ll end 2014 with a tour of UK arenas in November and December.
