The Black Keys have received the seal of approval from Edwyn Collins as ‘A Girl Like You‘ has become a regular fixture on their setlist during a tour of North America.

Collins has called the cover of his hit 1995 single ‘beautiful, super and great’ on Twitter – judge for yourself by watching some fan shot footage from when it was first performed below.

The Black Keys are out on the road supporting their latest album ‘Turn Blue‘, another commercial hit for Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, who will have first noticed the mainstream starting to pay attention with 2010’s ‘Brothers‘.

They’ll return to the UK early next year for shows at the Manchester Phones 4u Arena (February 27th 2015), Birmingham LG Arena (28th), Glasgow SSE Hydro (March 1st), The O2 Arena, London (3rd) and Leeds First Direct Arena (5th).

‘A Girl Like You’, now one of the enduring anthems of the mid-90s Britpop era, led Edwyn Collins’ ‘Gorgeous George‘ album and became comfortably his biggest solo hit when it reached #4 in the UK.
