The Coral will release the album ‘Curse Of Love‘ – recorded no less than eight years ago, putting its genesis some time between ‘The Invisible Invasion‘ and ‘Roots & Echoes‘.

This means their talented former guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones, who departed in 2008, played a part on the record whose existence was confirmed on Twitter yesterday (August 27th). A song entitled ‘Wrapped In Blue‘ has already been debuted on BBC radio.

The Coral have been on an indefinite hiatus since the most recent recording sessions of 2012 with producer John Leckie came to a fruitless end and instead resulted in the various bandmates scattering to pursue separate projects.

Last year, Ian Skelly painted an uncertain future when speaking to NME; “There just has to be a demand for it, people have to decide they want it,” he said of a possible return. “For now, we’re on a break. That might last until next month. It could be five years.”
