Morrissey has parted company with his label Harvest Records at the behest of boss Steve Barnett, reports True To You.

The fansite has run a short article detailing the split which reads: “Three weeks after the release of Morrissey’s World Peace Is None Of Your Business (#2 UK, #14 US), Capitol Records/Harvest have ended their relationship with Morrissey, as directed by label boss Steve Barnett. Morrissey is once again in search of a record label.”

Morrissey had been without a record label for some time before he joined Harvest in the January of this year for the release of ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business‘, when Capitol Music Group Chairman and CEO Steve Barnett described him as, ‘One of music’s most important and influential artists’.

However, the former Smiths singer appeared to criticise the label when writing on True To You last week, hinting at a lack of support behind the various spoken word videos which were produced in the run-up to his latest solo LP’s release.
