Kate Bush returned to the UK stage for the first time in 35 years last night, and reports are flooding in of a lavish, visually stunning theatrical production.

A low-key start to her first run of live dates since the one and only tour of 1979 exploded into dancing, costume and lighting as the second side of 1985’s ‘Hounds Of Love‘ was recreated, soon followed by the 2005 album ‘Aerial‘.

Kate Bush will have played a total of 22 shows at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo in London by the start of October – accounting for around 80,000 tickets.

Meanwhile, the publicity surrounding the tour is set to result in eleven of her studio albums returning to the UK charts according to the Official Charts Company. These are led by the eighties greatest hits collection ‘The Whole Story‘, which is currently at #8.
