Concrete news of the Foo Fighters‘ eighth studio album is likely to be revealed next Monday (August 11th), with the band promising ‘some big news’ in a post on their Facebook page.

The band have been working on a follow-up to the hugely successful ‘Wasting Light‘ for some time now, and Dave Grohl detailed the different approach being taken in the studio when talking to BBC DJ Zane Lowe earlier this year.

“I know what it sounds like and I honestly think the entire concept is really going to take people by surprise and it sounds nuts,” he said. “We recorded something the other day that’s unlike anything we’ve ever done and it starts with a fuse and then it explodes.”

Foo Fighters are set to headline the closing concert for the first ever Invictus Games at London’s Olympic Park on September 14th – a new event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.
