August 25th sees the release of Royal Blood‘s eagerly awaited eponymous debut album, and another slice of the pie was unveiled in the shape of ‘Figure It Out‘ earlier this month. The track now has an official video which can be watched in full on Live4ever by clicking on the snapshot below.
Royal Blood have built a formidable live reputation ahead of the release of their first record thanks to a juicy, riff-driven sound which emanates from the humble drum and bass framework of Ben Thatcher and Mike Kerr.
The debut album has been crafted on and off during most of this year, as Kerr explained to NME. “We’ve been writing and recording over the last year, in batches,” he said.
“Any two piece fear things sounding the same. And that’s something that we were very conscious of at the beginning. But I think the way we’ve been writing and recording, we didn’t do it all in one. We’d do three or four tracks, and then we’d go in and record, and that was over the course of a year where I think we were really developing what the band was and some of the sounds we were using.”
