T In The Park organiser discusses future after move from Balado

tintheparksqT In The Park organiser Geoff Ellis has been discussing the festival’s future after its time at Balado came to an end last weekend.

Concerns surrounding an oil pipeline which runs underneath the site means the event will be held at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire from next year. “It’ll have more of a boutique feel I suppose,” Ellis tells BBC Newsbeat of the move.

“It’ll be a voyage of discovery for those going. It’ll be a little bit like Glastonbury where you can go to Shangri-La and not spend any time anywhere else. There are lots of mature trees, a castle, tree lined avenues. We might split the fields so, for example, have one field for leftfield music and the healthy eating area.”

Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris and Arctic Monkeys were the headliners last weekend as T In The Park waved goodbye to the site it has called home since 1997.
