New U2 album ‘to be released in November’

The long-awaited new U2 album could be released in November – if the ever reliable Sun newspaper is to be believed anyway.

It had been reported that the Irish supergroup were contemplating pushing the release of the successor to 2009’s ‘No Line On The Horizon‘ back to 2015 as a result of difficult recording sessions, but a ‘source’ for the tabloid has suggested otherwise.

“The U2 comeback is very much on for this year,” they report. “This album has been a real struggle for them to make. It’s taken a long time and Bono didn’t find it easy. But they’re very confident now and are convinced the wait has been worth it.”

U2 did put out the new single ‘Invisible‘ back in February – premiered during the Super Bowl coverage in the States – and raised nearly £2m for Bono‘s (RED) foundation in the process.
