New Pink Floyd album ‘The Endless River’ rumoured for release in October

It’s looking like Pink Floyd will add to the re-release of their 1994 album ‘The Division Bell‘ with a record comprising new, previously unheard material in October.

Dave Gilmour‘s wife Polly Samson set the ball rolling on Twitter, writing on July 5th: “Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called ‘The Endless River’. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swansong and very beautiful.”

Since then, The Sun newspaper has claimed Roger Waters will not be involved, while contributions made by Richard Wright before his death in 2008 will be included, meaning the band’s make-up matches that which was last active on ‘Division Bell’ twenty years ago.

Singer Durga McBroom-Hudson, who toured with Pink Floyd during their final years, has also disclosed some details, writing on Facebook that its recording, “Did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled ‘The Big Spliff’ that Nick Mason spoke about) which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it, but David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then.”
