Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has tipped AC/DC to immediately follow his own band in headlining Glastonbury next year.

When asked by Q about his thoughts on who could top the event in 2015, Ulrich singled out Foo Fighters as one of his own favourites, but added he believes AC/DC have already been lined up by organisers Michael and Emily Eavis.

“Foo Fighters would blow that shit up,” he said. “Can I throw in my first bid for who I think Michael Eavis has booked for next year? I have heard it might be a band whose lead singer is British, but none of the rest of the band are. AC/DC. Come on! Can you imagine that?”

After the conclusion of Glastonbury last month, bookmakers William Hill immediately made Iron Maiden their favourites to top the Pyramid Stage in 2015 with odds of 7/1. At that time, AC/DC were at 10/1 while other strong tips included the currently estranged Oasis, Kate Bush and, as ever, Prince.
