Live4ever’s New Tunes Guide is led this week by LA’s Active Set and Texan natives The Distant Suns.

Active Set have returned with the new track ‘Shut Em Down’ after an uncertain period following the departure of founding guitarist Johnty Thompson in 2013 put the band’s future in doubt. Perhaps as a result, songwriter Matthew Stolarz has described their latest release as, ‘Possibly the saddest song I’ve written’.

The Distant Sun hail from San Antonio in Texas and have a sound which has been compared to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Velvet Revolver and Pearl Jam. They are the New Tunes Guide’s highlighted Reverb Nation artist for this week.
