The Foo Fighters will be in London in September to headline the closing concert for the Invictus Games – a new event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

The gig is to be held at London’s Olympic Park on September 14th, just over two years on from the city’s Olympic Games.

Also on the bill are Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, James Blunt, Diversity and the Military Wives Choir.

“Invictus Games, look out…THE FOO FIGHTERS ARE COMING,” a statement from the band reads. “What a perfect way to finally return to the UK for the first time in years…been waaaay too long! Thanks for having us, it is truly an honor to come play for these incredible men and women. Can’t wait to do our thing.”

Highlights from the show will be broadcast on the BBC.
