During an interview which doesn’t exactly do a lot do dispel Billy Bragg‘s belief that Kasabian are around ‘to remind us how true Spinal Tap was‘, the band’s guitarist Serge Pizzorno has said they painstakingly geared their new album ‘48:13‘ towards that running length because he ‘fell in love with the number’.

“I promise you the amount of time and effort it took to get the CD correct, it was insane on every level,” Pizzorno told XFM. “I decided on the name and the length before I finished the record.”

“I just fell in love with the number. Certain songs were made shorter, there was choruses cut out, it was ridiculous.”

However, it appears all that effort has gone to waste as far as iTunes is concerned, where the album is in fact closer to ’48:06′. “We can’t do anything about it which is a real shame, he added. “It took us forever, it was complete insanity. I’ll never do it again I promise.”
