Jimmy Page discusses chances of Led Zeppelin headlining Glastonbury

Jimmy Page, who’s itching to get Led Zeppelin back on the stage despite Robert Plant‘s not inconsiderable objections, has not ruled out the possibility of the band headlining Glastonbury in the future.

Speaking to DJ Shaun Keaveny on BBC 6Music, Page said: “I haven’t heard about anything since the 2007 O2 gig, but you never know do you. You never know what’s going to happen tomorrow, do you?” The comments coming after Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis previously said he is ‘sure’ the band will headline his event one day.

Led Zeppelin were always considered very much an outside bet for this year’s festival as speculation surrounding the identity of the third and final main act for 2014 reached fever pitch. Oasis, David Bowie, Kate Bush, The Stone Roses, Fleetwood Mac and Prince were just some of the other names to be strongly linked with joining Arcade Fire and Kasabian on the Pyramid Stage later this month before Metallica were eventually confirmed.
