Jack White has felt it necessary to shed more light on a recent interview in which he apparently caused a bit of a kerfuffle thanks to comments made about The Black Keys and his former White Stripes bandmate Meg White among others.

White has written a blog post entitled ‘An apology and explanation from Jack White’ on his official website after discussing the relationship he shared with Meg White during an interview with Rolling Stone, when he also had more harsh words to say about Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney.

“She is a strong female presence in rock and roll, and I was not intending to slight her either, only to explain how hard it was for us to communicate with our very different personalities,” he said about Meg White, while on the Black Keys he declared:

“I hope the best for their record label Nonesuch who has such a proud history in music, and in their efforts to bring the Black Keys songs to the world. I hope for massive success also for their producer and songwriter Danger Mouse and for the other musicians that their band employs.”

Jack White returns with his second solo album ‘Lazaretto‘ on June 10th.
