Interpol have announced they will release ‘El Pintor‘ – their first studio album in four years – on September 8th.

The 10-track LP has been recorded at the Electric Lady and Atomic Sound studios in New York City, and all were written and produced by the band. Brandon Curtis of Secret Machines provides keyboards on nine songs, with Beck‘s pal Roger Joseph Manning Jr. on keys for the remaining track ‘Tidal Wave‘. In addition, Bon Iver‘s Rob Moose guests with the violin and viola on ‘Twice As Hard‘.

Interpol’s previous, self-titled studio effort of 2010 marked the departure of bass player Carlos Dengler, while his fill-in Dave Pajo also left the group less than a year later. As a result, frontman Paul Banks has for the first time taken up bass duties for the recording of ‘El Pintor’.

‘El Pintor’ tracklist:

‘All The Rage Back Home’
‘My Desire’
‘Anywhere’
‘Same Town, New Story’
‘My Blue Supreme’
‘Everything Is Wrong’
‘Breaker 1’
‘Ancient Ways’
‘Tidal Wave’
‘Twice as Hard’
