Fat White Family have snubbed record company interest and launched their own label, reports Music Week.

“The band attracted a lot of interest from labels both big and small over the last few months but when I met with Craig Caukill and was asked if the band would like their own label this became the obvious solution,” the band’s manager Stuart Green has said.

“It means the band retain their independence and are in control of their own destiny. This is something I have always sought for every artist I have worked with and consider this to be the most exciting deal I have ever been involved in.”

The new venture has been launched with the support of [PIAS] Cooperative for marketing and distribution worldwide with the exception of North America. “Fat White Family are a hugely exciting proposition, the band have amazing potential and a clear artistic vision for the label – we’re delighted to be working with them,” Craig Caukill of [PIAS] commented.

As well as their own music, Fat White Family are hoping to sign-up other new acts to Without Consent, as well as releasing ‘some old blues classics’.
