The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night re-released to cinemas on 50th anniversary


beatles2A restored version of The Beatles‘ first feature film, 1964’s A Hard Day’s Night, will be released to cinemas in July to celebrate the movie’s 50th anniversary.

A Hard Day’s Night will be presented in a new 4k digital restoration approved by director Richard Lester with three additional audio options, including newly created stereo and 5.1 surround mixes supervised by Giles Martin at Abbey Road, also available.




It hits cinemas from July 4th, followed by a a special edition Blu-ray and two-disc DVD on July 21st packed with bonus features. An extended showing at BFI Southbank is planned with a special preview and talk with Richard Lester on July 3rd.

A Hard Day’s Night’s razor-sharp script, fast pace and, above all, classic soundtrack made the film another bonafide hit for the Fab Four as Beatlemania reached its zenith. The album of the same name was the first to be compiled entirely of original songs from John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
