Royal Blood have told NME they hope to have their debut album on the shelves by August.

As just about the only ‘rock’ based act to receive any modicum of industry support at the turn of 2014 – on the BBC Sound Of… and MTV Brand New hype lists – Royal Blood’s first album has been eagerly awaited all year.

Now, after on-off recording sessions for most of 2014, the duo have declared themselves ‘happy’ with the results. “We’ve kind of been writing and recording over the past year in batches.” they said. “We’re aiming to get our record out this August.”

“We’re at a stage now where we’re pretty happy with it. We’ve got a few more trips to the studio, but it’s definitely in the final stages.”

Royal Blood have also received support from the Arctic Monkeys and played behind the Sheffield band, along with Miles Kane and Tame Impala, over two nights at Finsbury Park last weekend.
