Yahoo has teamed up with Live Nation to stream gig a day online for a year, by which time some 1,200 songs from the shows will have been made available on demand.

“Sixty million people attended our 23,000 Live Nation concerts last year alone,” Live Nation’s CEO Michael Rapino says. “The Live Nation Channel on Yahoo will build on this scale and become a great, new destination for music fans.” Interviews and behind the scenes footage will also be available on the new channel. No bands have yet been confirmed for the new service, however, Live Nation has revealed that it will be selling sponsorship to brands such as Kellogg’s.”

Meanwhile Kathy Savitt, Yahoo’s Chief Marketing Officer, believes that the new service ‘will bring ‘together the world’s largest digital publisher and the leading live entertainment company to redefine the digital live music experience for users around the world’.

As mentioned in Rapino’s statement, artists due to appear in the series have yet to be confirmed.
