Paul Weller claims he will not take part in any future Record Store Day initiatives after copies of his 7″ single ‘Flame Out‘ found their way onto eBay at hugely inflated prices.

Many of the one-off Record Store Day singles, EPs and albums have been put up for sale on the auction website way above their original price, with some places helpfully sorting the most obscenely expensive into a nicely ordered rundown.

And after grumblings from some fans, Weller has discussed his disappointment at the touting. “I agree with all of you who have sent messages expressing your anger and disappointment at the exploitation of these “limited editions” by touts,” he has written.

“Apart from making the record, the rest has very little to do with me but I am disheartened by the whole thing and unfortunately I won’t be taking part in Record Store Day again.”
