London Grammar latest band to receive praise from David Cameron

London Grammar have become the latest band to receive the extremely dubious honour of being singled out for praise by David Cameron.

The PM was asked by the London Evening Standard who he would invite to an event which showcased the best of new British music, and replied:

“Well, when we had the White House dinner in Washington we had Mumford And Sons, which was great because it was before their last album got really big. But who I really like right now is London Grammar. I think they’re brilliant. So if I could do it again I’d have them.”

Cameron has had a love-hate affair with the music world to say the very least during recent times, and was famously ‘forbidden’ from listening to The Smiths by Johnny Marr.

And while Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was slightly more relaxed about the subject, he did threaten to ‘sue the shit’ out of him if the band’s music was ever used in a campaign context.

“I can’t say I love the idea of a banker liking our music, or David Cameron,” Yorke told Dazed and Confused. “I can’t believe he’d like ‘King of Limbs’ much. But I also equally think, who cares? As long as he doesn’t use it for his election campaigns, I don’t care. I’d sue the living shit out of him if he did.”
