Kasabian will release the new album ’48:13’ on June 9th, just in time for their headline appearance at Glastonbury later that month.

The title reflects the album’s running length, described by guitarist Serge Pizzorno thus: “I felt that we had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album. I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding.”

“Less is more,” frontman Tom Meighan added. “It’s direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We’ve had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serge has stripped it right back. It’s unbelievable.”

New touring guitarist Tim Carter will be on board for the Glastonbury performance after Jay Mehler‘s defection to Beady Eye last year.

The album is preceded with first single ‘eez-eh‘ on June 2nd.
