Video: The Men support new album with ‘Pearly Gates’ promo

Another slice of The Men‘s latest album ‘Tomorrow’s Hits‘ – released this week – has made itself known. Have a watch of the video for ‘Pearly Gates‘ by clicking on the snapshot at the end of this article.

‘Tomorrow’s Hits’ was written by Mark Perro in his bedroom around the same time as last year’s enjoyably raucous ‘New Moon‘  and was recorded over just two days at the Strange Weather Studios in Brooklyn. It will now be pushed with a brief tour of the UK starting at the Sheffield Harley on March 13th. They then park up at The Haunt in Birmingham (14th), the London Village Underground (27th), the Liverpool East Village Arts Club (28th), the Glasgow Broadcast (29th) and finally the Leeds Brudenell Social Club on March 30th.

‘New Moon’ was named as one of Live4ever’s favourite albums of last year after our review began: “Genre is a term that doesn’t hold much meaning for a band like The Men. After weaving subtle psychedelic nuance through thick layers of lo-fi thrash and brute-force sludge on 2010’s ‘Immaculada‘ and 2011’s ‘Leave Home‘, these unassuming New York lifers pushed their experimental post-hardcore template past the concept of classification with last year’s critically-acclaimed breakthrough ‘Open Your Heart‘.”
