There was one of the first live outings from Damon Albarn since the Blur frontman unveiled his maiden solo venture ‘Everyday Robots‘, a cracking closing set from The National and a performance from the returning Horrors as the impressive line-up for the inaugural BBC 6Music festival played out in Manchester during the weekend just gone.
The BBC 6Music YouTube page has a number of performances from the two-day event available now, with a select few posted below.
It was the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester which hosted the festival on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st. “The BBC Radio 6 Music Festival brings a wonderful 6 Music line up of performances to music fans – one which reflects the fantastic range of artists that BBC Radio 6 Music offers listeners every day,” Bob Shennan – controller of BBC Radio 2, 6Music, the Asian Network and popular music – remarked in January.
“And the venue is also a stone’s throw from Media City, which is home to many of BBC Radio 6 Music’s shows.”
