Tame Impala have lent their hand to Record Store Day 2014, and will release an exclusive live album for the occasion.
‘Live Versions‘ is out on April 19th along with countless other special releases, and carries various live versions of tracks from the band’s still limited back catalogue. ‘Be Above It‘ – which opens the sublime ‘Lonerism‘ – is streaming online and can be heard below.
The band’s chieftain Kevin Parker has said in a press release that ‘Live Versions’ tracklist was ‘based on how different the live versions are from the album versions’. “His goal was to give fans something they won’t already have; something they’ve only previously experienced at a Tame Impala show,” the statement concludes.
