Maximo Park‘s UK tour has been rescheduled at the last minute due to an eye injury suffered by frontman Paul Smith.

“We’re sorry to do this at such short notice and sincerely apologise for any disappointment caused but Paul has had to have an emergency eye operation and unfortunately the first two shows in Portsmouth and Bristol have been rescheduled,” a statement announced.

Those shows were due to take place tonight (March 6th) and tomorrow, but fear not as rearranged dates have already been confirmed, as the statement goes on to explain:

“Bristol Academy show moves to 16th March and Portsmouth Wedgewood moves to 23rd April. Apologies again for the inconvenience. Original tickets remain valid and refunds are available if you can’t make these new dates. Thank you for your patience.”

Maximo Park are set to hit the road in support of the latest studio effort ‘Too Much Information‘ – a UK Top 10 album last month.
