The final New Tunes Guide of March arrives today with highlights from Vigo Thieves and Omi Palone.
Glasgow’s Vigo Thieves had their new single ‘This Love’ released on vinyl, special limited edition CD and download at the start of this month. “We thought it would suit the song and it does,” the band’s Stevie Jukes says of the video. “It’s a big powerful anthem but has a darker side, just like the video. We’re showing that dark side of love. Ultimately, the anti-hero is out to save his girl. That’s what counts. I think our fans will understand we’re a grown-up band, a rock band. There’s an edge there, so hopefully people won’t be offended by the video and understand what we’re trying to convey.” Meanwhile, Omi Palone will have their self-titled debut album out as a joint release between Faux Discx and new label Negative Space on April 14th. The London-based four-piece are comprised of Philip Serfaty, guitarist Simon Marsham, bassist Liam O’Neill and drummer Jack Gillis.
To celebrate another week of great music, the Live4ever Ezine is very excited to partner with Manchester’s Ei8htball to offer one lucky reader a new pair of their EX811 in-earphones! Once you’ve been through this week’s tracks, check out all the competition details below.
“God Damn have announced a deal with One Little Indian and have confirmed they will release their debut album via the label later in the year. Following earlier single releases via Distorted Tapes & Gravy, the band’s first One Little Indian release is new single ‘Shoe Prints In The Dust’ b/w ‘It’s A Pity’ (April 21st), two new songs recorded at the legendary Toe Rag studios with Liam Watson.”
“Following the worldwide release of their debut album ‘MEN’, Quiet Marauder pressed on by releasing second single ‘Accidental Voyeur’ on 24th February 2014 through Bubblewrap Collective. ‘A lot of the songs on the MEN album deal with slightly twisted versions of love that people convince themselves are normal,’ the band explain.”
“The New Union have unveiled the new video for their single ‘NOW’, which was released 17th March 2014. The new single follows the release of their ‘Staying Friends EP’, recorded with Grammy award winning producer Dan Grech in London’s RAK Studios. ‘NOW’ was produced by good friend, Electric Soft Parade’s Matt Thwaites and mixed/mastered at Abbey Road Studios.”
