Elbow on course for first UK number one album

Elbow are on course for their first UK number one album according to midweek sales figures.

After ‘The Seldom Seen Kid‘ finally handed the band commercial recognition in peaking at #5 on the UK Album Chart in 2008, its 2011 follow-up ‘Build a Rocket Boys!‘ went a stage further and gained a high of #2 in the March of that year.

But it’s looking like their sixth studio effort ‘The Take Off and Landing Of Everything‘ could fare even better, and is at the summit midway through the week just ahead of Paloma Faith‘s ‘A Perfect Contradiction‘. Not far back, Metronomy are also heading for a new entry inside the Top 10 with ‘Love Letters‘.
