Live performances from Drenge, Savages, Daughter, Anna Calvi and others will feature on a special War Child-backed release for Record Store Day.
As the official charity for next month’s event, War Child has teamed up with XFM and produced a 12-track vinyl release, limited to 1,000 copies and compiled from the station’s John Kennedy’s X-Posure Sessions.
“The show is 15 years old in 2014 so it’s a delight to have a physical incarnation of it to mark the anniversary,” Kennedy says. “It’s also good to be able to offer this to you on Record Store Day as way of supporting and highlighting the brilliant work of War Child.”
“We are honoured to be supporting War Child by producing this amazing record,” Spencer Hickman of Record Store Day UK adds. “This special release does not carry a price tag, but we would encourage anyone who is lucky enough to get their hands on it to make a donation to War Child as a thank you to help them continue to make a difference.”
