Damon Albarn has announced ‘Heavy Seas Of Love‘ will be released as a download on April 27th – the day before his debut solo album ‘Everyday Robots‘ hits the shops.
‘Heavy Seas Of Love’ comes complete with guest vocals from Brian Eno and was recorded last year at Albarn’s West London Studio with producer Richard Russell, of whom Albarn has previously remarked to Rolling Stone:
“He’s done spectacularly well as a music mogul, but I think he wants to focus his energy on producing records. Making a solo record can be such a disaster, so I thought if we’re going to make a record with my name on it, I should get someone to really produce it – take that responsibility away from myself.”
Damon Albarn has UK dates due at the The Rivoli Ballroom (April 30th)m The Great Hall, QMUL (May 1st) and Latitude with his new backing band The Heavy Seas which consists of guitarist Seye, drummer Pauli The PSM, bassist Jeff Wootton and Mike Smith on keyboards.
