Video: Manchester Orchestra debut ‘Top Notch’ from new album ‘Cope’

Manchester Orchestra have debuted the John Minton-directed video for their track ‘Top Notch‘, which will feature on the new album ‘Cope‘ when it is released on March 31st.

The band’s lead singer and songwriter Andy Hull has described the single as being about ‘two brothers trying to escape a fire’, while of the video he explains:

“We tried to create something that told less of an immediate story and caused more of a gut reaction. Something to be interpreted without laying it all out in front of you. It’s also quite terrifying. Like somebody was digging and found this VHS artifact in the ground.”

‘Cope’ has been self-produced by the band with the help of their long-time collaborator Dan Hannon. It was mixed by John Agnello at the Fluxivity Studios in Brooklyn after writing and recording sessions which took place throughout 2012 and 2013 in their own fully-refurbished studio.

The LP follows 2011’s ‘Simple Math‘ – one of Live4ever’s essential releases of that year.
