The National are trailing their tour documentary Mistaken For Strangers ahead of its US release next month.

The film, which follows the band’s fortunes on a European tour, was first announced last year to coincide with their sixth album ‘Trouble Will Find Me‘. It has already been screened at the Tribeca Film and BFI London Film festivals and was directed by frontman Matt Berninger‘s younger brother Tom.

“Newbie roadie Tom is a heavy metal and horror movie enthusiast, and can’t help but put his own spin on the experience,” a press release explained. “Inevitably, Tom’s moonlighting as an irreverent documentarian creates drama on the road. The film is a touching look at two very different brothers and an entertaining story of artistic aspiration.”

The National are due to headline Primavera Sound along side Arcade Fire and Nine Inch Nails in May, and have also been booked to perform at the first ever BBC 6Music Festival in a week or so’s time.
