The Flaming Lips will be in the UK this coming May for four headline dates.

Wayne Coyne‘s band of merry men are due to play the Edinburgh Usher Hall on May 26th, Manchester’s O2 Apollo a day later, the Brixton Academy in London on the 28th and finally Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena on May 9th. Tickets are up for grabs from this Friday (February 14th).

2013 proved to be another fun-filled 12 months for The Flaming Lips, with the thirteenth studio album ‘The Terror‘ heralding a number of delights and surprises as the year progressed.

Those included a reworking of The Stone Roses‘ classic debut album – done with the help of Peaking Lights, Stardeath and White Dwarfs, New Fumes, Def Rain and others – while there was a typically bonkers cover of David Bowie‘s ‘Heroes‘ with Yoko Ono recorded for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and a joint tour of the US along side Tame Impala which offered fans a special covers EP in the process.
