The Cure are aiming to put a new album out later this year and also embark on another ‘Trilogy’ tour.

Recorded around the same period as 2008’s ‘4:13 Dream‘, the tentatively titled ‘4:14 Scream‘ is expected some time in 2014, as are a series of live concert DVDs. The band also hope to begin a similar concert series to that they performed back in 2002, when the albums ‘Pornography‘, ‘Disintegration‘ and ‘Bloodflowers‘ were all aired in their entirety.

Last week, The Cure became one of the first acts to be added to the Teenage Cancer Trust series of concerts. Taking place at the Royal Albert Hall in London next month, the shows see Who frontman Roger Daltrey returning as the chief curator following a year’s break when the reigns were temporarily handed over to Noel Gallagher.

Suede, playing their ‘Dog Man Star‘ album in full, Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini and OneRepublic are the other early musical additions.
