Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. frontman John Lydon is working on a new autobiography which he says will be ‘basically about the life of a serious risk-taker’.

The memoir is expected to be on the shelves in October, and is being written with the assistance of music journalist Andrew Perry. “I make things safe for other people to follow on in my wake,” Lydon says. “I’m a stand-up-and-be-counted fella – but that’s in a world where nobody seems to be able to count.”

Lydon has already released the acclaimed life story Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs in 1994, while the limited edition Mr. Rotten’s Scrapbook also detailed his eventful history in innovative photo album form back in 2010.

“Since the mid-1970s he has consistently inspired both musically and politically,” commissioning editor Kerri Sharp states. “My life changed when I saw the Sex Pistols in 1977 and to publish John’s book is a dream come true. This will be a lively, rock ‘n’ roll ripping yarn full of opinion and surprises whilst also being a thoughtful and mature look back at one of history’s most extraordinary lives.”
