Omega Auctions in Stockport is putting some rare items from Oasis and The Stone Roses up for sale later this month.
A number of demo recordings from the Manchester bands will be up for grabs on February 21st and 22nd.
These include Oasis’ first demo on cassette – widely credited as being recorded in Liverpool with local band The Real People not long before they landed a record deal with Alan McGee – complete with handwritten lyrics from Noel Gallagher. This item has an estimated price of £1,000-£1,500.
A rare promo of Oasis’ debut album ‘Definitely Maybe‘, also on cassette, is expected to fetch between £200–£300, while a signed promotional poster for the 2000 single ‘Go Let It Out‘ is predicted to go for around £1,000.
The Stone Roses demos for sale are the unreleased track ‘Sun Still Shines‘ and early versions of ‘(Song For My) Sugar Spun Sister‘, ‘Going Down‘ and ‘Elephant Stone‘, yours for £2,000–£3,000, and a rare tape of the band’s classic eponymous debut.
