Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith has his eye on two solo projects immediately after the release of the band’s fifth album ‘Too Much Information‘.

Smith told NME that he is ‘always looking for things to work on’, and is planning to complete ‘Frozen By Sight‘ – based on his currently unpublished travel journals and written with the assistance of Maximo Park engineer Peter Brewis. “Peter and I have recorded the strings for the album version, and I did the vocals on a day off,” Smith explained.

Also in the pipeline is a studio version of his 30-minute composition ‘A Mind Full Of Nothing But Continue’, which was performed last September for the organisers of the Great North Run with the choral group Mouthful.

‘Too Much Information’ broke into the Top 10 of the UK Album Chart upon its release earlier this month – amounting to the group’s best chart position since the 2009 effort ‘Quicken The Heart‘.
