Another fall out from last night’s (February 26th) NME Awards ceremony is the news that Johnny Marr will have a second solo album out in September.

Marr went it alone good and proper for the first time a year ago this month with ‘The Messenger‘, an album which in Live4ever’s review was described as being, ‘A whole new thing. It’s less melancholic, is more spiky and much more upbeat. It’s the Marr of the here and now’.

And in giving an update to NME, Marr explains: “I’ve got a new record coming out in the end of September, the follow-up to last year’s.”

“I wanted to do the second one really quick. For me, it was just about being on tour and wanting to capture the spirit of the band and the audience before it wears off. I’d been touring for 11 months so I wanted to keep that same energy. I didn’t want to overthink it.”
