Franz Ferdinand will perform a setlist voted for by fans when they play the inaugural BBC 6Music Festival, which is to be held on February 28th and March 1st.

“We’ve never let the fans choose the set list before,” Alex Kapranos has said. “It wasn’t my idea. Could be a total disaster. Could be amazing. Let’s find out.”

15 singles, album tracks and b-sides have been put up for selection over on the 6Music website, with voting lasting until Monday, February 10th at 7pm.

“BBC Radio 6 Music is known for giving its listeners the music that they want to hear so allowing the fans to have their say in selecting Franz Ferdinand’s set list is totally in keeping with the ethos of the station,” 6Music DJ Steve Lamacq remarked.

The digital radio station has assembled an impressive looking cast for its first ever festival, with the likes of Damon Albarn, The National, Jake Bugg, Drenge, Metronomy, James Blake, The Horrors, Wild Beasts, Jagwar Ma, Midlake, Haim and Jimi Goodwin all wanting to play their part.
