The inaugural BBC 6Music Festival has joined forces with BBC Introducing for its latest round of confirmed acts.

PINS, Weird Shapes, Kiran Leonard, Mr Scruff and Bird have joined what is already a superb line-up for the event as Jason Carter, head of live music and events at the BBC, explains: “BBC Introducing in the North is one of the hotbeds for discovering fantastic new artists, and the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival in Manchester – a city itself a proven hub of musical talent – is going to be a brilliant opportunity for some of these artists to have exposure to potential new fans.”

A 6Music Fringe has also been announced to present a more diverse palate of entertainment in Manchester between February 28th and March 1st. Amongst those signed up for this leg are John Cooper Clarke, Alan McGee, Tim Burgess, Huey Morgan, Craig Charles, Murray Lachlan Young, Viv Albertine and Peter Hook, while retired cricketer Andrew Flintoff will host a special edition of the Radio 5Live panel show Fighting Talk.
