Arctic Monkeys went home with two prizes from last night’s (February 19th) Brit Awards ceremony while in his absence, David Bowie was named British Male Solo Artist.

The Arctic Monkeys picked up awards for Best British Group and British Album Of The Year, becoming the first band to score that particular double on three separate occasions in the process.

Unsurprisingly, David Bowie wasn’t in London to collect his gong after beating young bucks Jake Bugg, James Blake, John Newman and Tom Odell – described succinctly by that particular prize-giver Noel Gallagher as being ‘too cool for this shit’.
