Reading/Leeds organisers have confirmed the pretty much inevitable news that Arctic Monkeys will headline their festival this year.

Riding on the crest of a wave since the release of ‘AM‘ last year, the Sheffield band had been strongly tipped to perform at Reading/Leeds for some time, and have now duly joined Blink-182 as 2014 headliners over the weekend of August 22nd-24th.

Among the other new additions are Warpaint, Pusha T, Royal Blood, The 1975, SBTRKT, You Me At Six, The Courteeners, Netsky, Krept & Konan, Issues, Hozier, Architects and Annie Mac.

Arctic Monkeys return to Reading/Leeds for the first time since 2009, when Live4ever witnessed a somewhat underwhelming performance from the group. Since then however, they have grown immeasurably as a leading bill-topping act, and will embark on their latest summer festival campaign with Headliner Of The Year gongs in the bag from both the UK and European 2013 Festival Awards thanks largely to their show-stealing performance at Glastonbury last June.
