Two Door Cinema Club‘s fledgling status as one of the UK’s biggest live draws has been further underlined today with the news that they are to headline next year’s Latitude Festival, which takes place over the weekend of July 17th-20th.
“We’re ready to headline,” bass player Kevin Baird remarks. “We’re ready to smash it. Over the past five years we’ve made the progression from playing in the small tents to being close to the top of the bill on the main stage.”
“Headlining a great festival like Latitude is obviously quite a big deal for us but we also feel like it is the next natural step.”
The release of Two Door Cinema Club’s second album ‘Beacon‘ in the summer of 2012 further continued the mainstream popularity which began almost immediately with their 2010 debut ‘Tourist History‘, and has resulted in a headline gig at London’s O2 Arena later this month.
