Paul Weller and Gaz Coombes were the among the acts performing at the Union Chapel in London last night (December 5th) on behalf of the Save The Children charity.

The charity’s Christmas Tree Sessions event encouraged audience members to ‘wear their best festive sweaters to support Christmas Jumper Day’, and many of the invited guests were sporting their own Christmas knitwear for the occasion.

“Gaz Coombes and Paul Weller were brilliant live and it’s not often you get the chance to see such big names like Holly Johnson singing classics like The Power of Love in such an intimate venue,” host Lauren Laverne has said. “Save the Children’s Christmas Tree Sessions was a great night, for a great cause and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!”

Comedians Chris Addison, Dom Joly and Peter Serafinowicz also performed on the night, while Paul Weller has remarked: “What a pleasure to be on stage tonight performing a few tracks with the orchestra for Save the Children. What a great cause and let’s hope lots of money is raised”

“Thanks Save the Children for inviting me to be part of this night – electric atmosphere and a great crowd,” Gaz Coombes added.

Musicians from Christmas Tree Sessions performed in festive knits in support of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. Join them by donning your Christmas jumper on Friday 13th December and donating £1 at christmasjumperday.org.
