Bruce Springsteen has been praising the impact of Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello on his songwriting and forthcoming new album ‘High Hopes‘.

Morello has gradually evolved into an important confidant for Springsteen since the pair first hooked up in 2008, and it seems his influence peppers the ‘High Hopes’ LP, which is out next month.

“He became a filter that I ran my music through,” The Boss told Rolling Stone of Morello.

“He would send the songs back to me with a very current slant on them. He jolted those songs into the now. He’s one of the few guitarists that creates a world by himself. It’s like the Edge or Pete Townshend or Johnny Marr. The E Street Band is a big house, but when Tom is onstage he builds another room.”

‘High Hopes’ consists of original material, covers and reworked tracks and is slated for release on January 14th 2014.
