Video: Arcade Fire perform ‘Afterlife’ on German TV


Arcade Fire have performed their ‘Reflektor‘ album track ‘Afterlife‘ live on German television – check it out below.

The Canadians’ fourth album has continued the genuine mainstream success which they first found with 2010’s ‘The Suburbs‘, and went straight in at number one on both the UK and US album charts. This despite the group’s desire to ‘surprise’ people with their latest studio effort, as outlined by Win Butler when in conversation with BBC DJ Zane Lowe.




“I never wanted to be in a band that couldn’t play whatever music we wanted to and I think that every record has been a project itself and some of the stuff on this record is really going to surprise people – it’s even more different than ‘Reflektor’ I would say,” he said.  “It’s more of a classic double LP vibe where you have to flip the side and it takes you to a different place.”

After a short spell under the moniker The Reflektors, Arcade Fire recently announced a long stretch of more conventional North American tour dates, which stretch right through to the August of next year. Fans purchasing their tickets through Ticketmaster have been asked to, ‘Please wear formal attire or costume’ for the shows…
